ALIJÓ FAMILY HEALTHCARE UNIT | ALIJÓ
Target
Public tender promoted by the Regional Health Administration of the North for the construction of a Health Center capable of serving both the Trás-os-Montes village and the various surrounding parishes.
Building | Implantation
The building is located in an area of urban expansion close to the Municipal Market and the cemetery. It is adjacent to an extensive car park that is used for a weekly market. It is developed in two parallel volumes connected by an orthogonal suspended body and by two oblique wooden bridges, organizing: on the east side, the courtyard of Urgência at the low level and the service courtyard at the high level; on the west side, the main entrance and a garden area. Between the two building blocks, the natural terrain flows under the bridges, until it touches the public road.
Building | Functional organization - volumetry
As construction at a height is an unavoidable necessity, — due to the topographic nature of the land — the intended program was organized into three floors, the first for the Basic Emergency Unit, the second for the User Assistance Units (Department of Family Health, Community Care Unit and Public Health Operating Unit) and the third to the Directorate, Administrative Support and General Support. However, public access areas are identified and delimited, and alternative service routes have been created to ensure that the privacy of the work areas is not compromised and the Health Center's logistics are ensured. The layout of the operating units and the main entrance hall, allows the centralization of some common functions, such as the reception, the user's room, the public sanitary facilities (for both sexes), the hygiene room for babies and the vertical user connections (stairs and elevator).
